A Sunny Hello

A Sunny Hello

A very sunny 'Hello' to you all! It seems ages since I last posted a card. I was just trawling through my stuff from the Regional Training event and found one of the make and takes we did on the day. Since everything in the bag is now becoming slightly crumpled I remade this one along with a matching envelope, it's enough to brighten anyones day. I stamped the centre of the punched flower, adding a little bit of bling, instead of using a button on it, then chose a different sentiment. The stamp set is Mixed Bunch from the Summer Mini, teamed here with Daffodil Delight, Blushing Bride and Pear Pizzaz cardstock with matching inks. A little dimension by using the Blossom and Scallop Edge Punches then mounting on Stampin' Dimension pads. A spot of summer crafting to match a summery week.

Try Before You Buy

On Thursday night I held a 'Try Before You Buy' for my merry band. They seemed to enjoy trying out some of the new Summer Mini products and got to see nearly 60 new samples (which I'd got from the recent Regional Training & Team Training events I'd attended). Some are made with stamps and DSP from the Idea Book but most are using the new stamps from the Summer Mini. Hopefully they saw work to inspire them. We were talking about the different things we were using when Wanda asked "Who's Di Ink?" . She did make us laugh! Why did I spend so much time, 2 months ago. talking about different inks?
Another group of friends came over yesterday evening for a similar session, that was fun too. They made some super cards for me to use as samples, how kind! You can see them below, notice how often the new Bakers Twine makes and appearance.
The first two were made by Pat:

The Open Sea mounted on Paisley Petals DSP

Tea Shoppe with Paisley Petals DSP

These were made by Marilyn:

Framelits & Four Frames
Paisley Petals DSP/Brights DSP
Fiona created this card:

Mixed Bunch

Now we come to Margaret's cards. Margaret always claims she's no good at craft, those of us who know her beg to differ. I leave you to decide, but I think you'll agree with us!

Paisley Petals DSP
Paisley Petals DSP, Little Leaves Sizzlits
Thanks to the ladies for two fun evenings! Looking forward to next time, I may even invite Di Ink to join us!

Paisley Petal Pat

Hello everyone!  Just a quick post this morning. Last month I told my merry band that, as they'd supported me to get to Bronze2 in Stampin' Up! world, one of them would be receiving a pack of the Paisley Petals DSP as a thank you. Last night most of us got together at Wanda's house (thank you Wanda!) where we drew the name. Pat was the lucky winner. Not that she needed any more paper, she's got enough 12 x 12 to wallpaper her lounge! It was nice to be able to get together as a group, we'll try to do it more often.

Earlier today one of my merry band, Lesley, popped in to show me her latest creation. She used both SU and non SU products (it can take a little while to build up a stash), I thought it would be good to show her card here as inspiration to others and highlight the fact that Stampin' Up! products blend seemlessly into your kit, making them a good buy even if you've got lots of products already.
Lesley's card

Here Lesley has used the Scallop Edge Border Punch, 5 Petal Flower Punch and some of the Everyday Enchantment DSP (now retired), going to prove that you don't need a whole arsenal of Stampin' Up! products to get started. You can buy them gradually and ease them into your kit. Soon you'll wonder how you ever lived without them!!!

A Mixed Bunch for Gemma

Today is our girlie, Gemma's, birthday. None of the cards I made seemed to 'come together'. My crafty hands were on strike! This is the card that she'll be receiving as there is no more time to make yet another. It's using the Mixed Bunch stamp set from the Summer Mini. Stamped with Versamark and rubbed over with chalk. One image has a mixture of embossing powders on it. I've used the Marine Mist marker pen around the edge of the stamped piece. The inside greeting reads 'Happy birthday to someone who makes others so happy' which is part of the Petite Pairs stamp set. I like the greetings in that set as each greeting can easily be split into two so that part of the greeting can be stamped on the front of the card and part inside. I've opted to stamp the whole greeting inside. There's also a fab new punch to match this set but I ran out of space on this card to use it.
Happy Birthday to you, Gemma. Have a wonderful day!

Happy Birthday Gemma

You will have had a chance to browse our new Summer Mini by now, did you notice the Simply Scored Scoring Board???  It comes with a imperial (inches!) measurement base, there's an optional metric plate if you'd also like that. I bet you didn't know that you can get a diagonal scoring plate for it too! Priced at £10.95. We weren't supposed to be getting that plate until October when the new catalogue appears but such is the demand of your Stampin' Up! demonstrators, the powers that be have caved in and let us have it now! I saw this in action last Saturday at the Regional Training I attended and was pretty impressed. I was so sure that I didn't need one until I watched the demo. Oh, my aching purse!!! Take a look at the scoreboard in the Summer Mini, then check out the diagonal plate below.
