Recent Card Class

You may have seen the post on here the other month about my Spinner and Shaker card class. I'd seen some fabulous spinner and shaker cards by Yvonne van Bruggen, she inspired me to go for it! So, if there is any resemblance to her cards, you now know why!
I've just realised that I didn't share the cards with you. I'm afraid the photos aren't very good, especially the first one - I've just spilt some water on it!!!
But then, if you've stopped by before now you'll have realised that photography isn't my forte. Sure, I'd love good pictures but I'm just not overly interested in learning more about it!
The first two are the spinners, I particularly like the camera card. I took inspiration online but saw so much that it's difficult to pin down one name.

Now for the two shaker cards.

All four were fun to make and our dies make the whole process very quick and easy to achieve your ideal card!

It's Getting Nearer!

Thousands of Stampin' Up! demonstrators around the world will be attending and Onstage event next month, and even more demos will be watching online. Onstage replaces our previous convention and regional events and happen every 6 months. Some of us are entitled to attend an event on the Friday called Centrestage and we all await the arrival of our ticket. I'd seen others posting online that theirs had arrived so was delighted with this morning's happy mail.

I like to see the different ticket design each time and am loving this cinema style/retro ticket. Reminds me of the circus too!

Those of us attending are busy preparing swaps to exchange, pity I haven't started mine yet!!! So, I best get started!

September Wedding

You may recall the RSVP card I made the other month which coordinated with the wedding invitation we'd received.... quick pic again to remind you -

Of course, I then had to come up with a suitable wedding card.
After much trial and error this is the end result - a wedding shaker card using the jar and a little blushing bride to tie in with the original cards.

The bride and groom are a young couple so I didn't want anything too fuddy duddy - hope this fits the bill!

A Little Graffiti

Another 'Thank You' card for one of my Ladies. This time it's a graffiti card.

This style of card, made using our brick embossing folder, would also be good for teenage boys. Often difficult cards to make
Alternatively, make it more feminine with flowers 'growing' up it. I'm sure you can think of many more ways to use this crafty tool!

Inspired by Everyday Life 1

Last month's Just for Fun class took it's inspiration from some vibrantly wrapped chocolate bars.
I didn't attempt to make exact copies of the wrappers but toned the cards towards the wrappers and details.
Below you can see the final projects.

I think the first and, especially the last, are my favourites.
My ladies loved the cards and enjoyed making them. They have also been well received on social media.
I hope you like them too!
I plan to use this theme periodically, there's so much to boost our creativity!
I will be sharing them on my pinterest page, do feel free to use the link in the right hand column to go take a look at these and the other cards on the board.
Perhaps you'd like to share a card with me which has been inspired by something from everyday life? Don't forget to include a picture of what inspired you too.
Happy crafting!

With Thanks

When I give out customer orders or get online orders I like to give out a thank you card. I pop a handmade card into a cello bag, leaving it blank so that the customer can reuse it. I rarely know exactly what the card will look like when I set out to make them, and often taken aback with what I end up with..... not always in a good way!
Recently I thought I'd put to good use some odd bits and bobs I'd been stamping and die cutting. I end up with so many pieces and really should use them Below you can see two of the results.

This note card was the result of being left with the negative image after die cutting a butterfly from Crushed Curry card stock. I painstakingly stuck all the little pieces from the wings onto Soft Suede card. I then cut a new butterfly from some retired DSP, white with yellow and blackberry spots on it, which I stuck over the negative pieces, gluing only the body. This enabled me to raise the wings, giving the card some dimension. The whole piece was mounted onto a die cut scalloped edge square, candy dots placed onto the butterfly's body and sentiment stamped in matching colour.
Simple little card, I wasn't quite sure at first but it grew on me.

This second card came together after having played with a stamp set and matching dies which I bought before the annual catalogue went live. Thought I should try to get some use from them.
At the time I didn't have any ink pads with me, just 3 marker pens, so I'm surprised that I managed to pull the card together! Just shows what you can do with limited supplies!
I used the Best Birds Stamp Set + Birds & Blooms Thinlits Dies. Available as a bundle on page 53 of the annual catalogue. Buy a bundle and save on the cost of buying the items individually.
I quite liked the finished card.
Hoping that these two little cards inspire you to use some of your bits and bobs too!
Happy crafting!

Sponge Rollers

The other month, at our Just for Fun class, we got a little inky with some Irresistibly Yours DSP I had stashed away and our new sponge rollers.
The ladies had a lot of fun and were amazed at just how much the colour 'popped' on their card fronts.
Here are the cards we crafted...

This card was CASED from Mary Brown AKA Stamper Camper. I think we all got pretty covered in Melon Mambo ink from this one!
The next card uses out deep Dapper Denim, the doily gives it a little feminine touch. I love the white trim on it too -

Now for a touch of Autumn.

We blended the three ink colours together. Not sure if you can see the Wink of Stella (gold) on the leaf and splatters in this photo.
Finally, my favourite. I saw some fabulous fishy cards and can't recall now if this was a CASE or not. However, what I will say is that it was my favourite. I just love this card!

I hope you like these cards and feel like trying out our sponge rollers. You get 2 handles and 4 sponges for just £7.25. Although the Irresistibly Yours DSP has now retired, we do have a new set of designs in the pack called Irresistibly Floral DSP on page 172 of the annual catalogue. You get 12 sheets for £11.75. Each sheet measures 12" x 12" and if that sounds a little more than our regular DSP, let me just tell you that you can make 6 card fronts from each sheet - that's 72 in all! That's less than 17p per card front - amazing value!!! We also have a more seasonal pack in our Autumn/Winter catalogue.
Do give it a go, my ladies had so much fun!

Season of Mists and Mellow Fruitfulness

I'm back, and I've just realised how long I've been missing - apart from a tiny post I've been missing for a whole month! That's at least 4 posts!   I was away and was busy with classes until 2 or 3 days beforehand. I got back and had a nasty head cold. Only a cold but the high temperature made me feel pretty poorly. Since then I feel like I've been playing catch up and still am way behind. Not good! So, during this coming week, I'll try to bring you up to date with all that is going on in Stampin' Up! land.

We've just entered October and, thankfully, are still having a nice few days, on and off, weather wise. It reminds me of one of my favourite poems by John Keats.
Yesterday was World Card Making Day. Lagging so far behind, I felt it better to start this week fresh rather than quickly produce something for the day that hadn't had much thought. However, there are absolutely LOADS of fabulous cards all over the internet and social media sites such as Facebook.
I've a few cards to share with you and news of this months promotion. So be sure to check back tomorrow!
