Stampin' Creative Blog Hop - Retiring Favourites

Hello, welcome to this month's blog hop!
Whether you've hopped here from Pip and been hopping around full of inspiration or if you're starting here, no matter! It's good to have your company.
This month we're focussing on retiring favourites. Well, you could find so many things to include but, due to time restraints, I've had to choose just one - the Going Global suite.
Boy, I LOVE,LOVE,LOVE this fabulous paper and stamp set. The paper includes one of my all time favourite colours - Lost Lagoon. I want to cry real tears at the thought of it going! Crazy, yes, I know!
So, what to make???
What do you think of this.....
It's called a Split Top Box. I saw it on Splitcoast Stampers recently. The original on there was by Joann Jamieson. I do need to embellish the lid a little.

Here you get a better idea .

This size was perfect for our notelets. I cut co-ordinating card to make notelets rather than use our pre-cut items.
Here are the cards....

Obviously, I would stamp the envelopes to match too to make a set.
I apologise if the photos are a little skewwiff - it's now almost 2am and I've only just finished and got the post complete.
I do hope you've enjoyed stopping by today - if you have, it would be great if you'd leave a comment!
Talking of comments - we have a GIVEAWAY!!!!
Read more about this below....

Before you hop forward to Caro's blog, be sure to take part in our GIVEAWAY. Details below.

    Butterfly Basics

Yesterday I repeated the Butterfly Basics class, at a customers request as she wasn't able to make the previous dates. This helped towards my #6monthstampingoals
There are 4 cards in the set plus a bonus treat bag.
All in shades of very vanilla, hello honey and smoky slate. The ribbons, both now retired, are hello honey too, the stamps are Butterfly Basics which are not retiring.
I'll leave you to browse the photos of these cards.

The Butterfly thinlets work well with these cards. Here is the bonus project, the treat bag...

Now, I have to admit, I'm a blue girl, not overly keen on yellow but I think these are quite beautiful. Since they are not my designs I can afford to say that without bragging!
I hope you like them as much as my customers and I do!

    Hello Sunshine!

It must be baby time! Two friends have recently welcomed a new grandchild into their family.
I'd been trying to think of a reason to break out the new starburst die that I'd bought. You know how it is, you buy something and then, once it arrives, you're not quite sure what to make with it! I didn't particularly want a traditional baby card with cutesy images - I'm not good at cutesy!
I cut the Subtles DSP with the die and, prior to sticking it to the white base I used the die as a mask to apply ink. I wanted to give the impression of the sun radiating out.
I finally got to use the 'Welcoming Your New Little Sunshine' stamp from Ray of Sunshine (yet another stamp set I've had for absolutely ages that hadn't yet been used....seems to be a bit of a trend here!). I stamped it onto a doily and attached it to the centre of the die cut image, adding a glimmer paper 'hello' in the right had corner. The whole front was attached to a So Saffron base card. Inside I stamped 'hello sunshine' from the So You stamp set.
To finish off I made an envelope to coordinate using the envelope punch board which I decorated with ribbon and a tag.
Well, I wasn't displeased with the end result, what do you think? I hope you like it!

    Birthday Balloons

Today I'm sharing a card I made last month for a friend. I can show it now as her birthday was last week.
A card in a box using the Party Pants SAB stamp set, now retired. Some of the balloons are covered in Crystal Effects to give shine. I've added glittery glimmer paper stars and also a greeting which comes from Suite Sayings. The DSP , which works perfectly, is Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper and has multiple balloons all over. However, quite a few of the sheets in this pack would have worked well on this card.
Although quite decorative, this card is pretty sturdy and stood up to being mailed to Canada - phew!
Card in a box may be a little more time consuming to make but the effect packs a punch when the receiver opens the envelope, which is exactly what you're aiming for!

    Centrestage Telford 2016

As you may have gathered from a previous post, Stampin' Up! held their Onstage events across the globe this past weekend.
Our event was in Telford and began on Friday evening for those of us who hold the title Silver Elite, or above. This is called Centrestage.
It began with registration for this group where we received our bag - there's always a bag at our events - a canvas tote which is super useful for lugging catalogues and supplies about. Inside was a free stamp set from the new catalogue, am afraid I can't share that with you yet, also a lanyard and a coloured badge for prize patrol.

Take note of the colours on the front (!)
We then attended Centrestage where we had a fun training session with antipasto. This was the view that greeted us upon arrival at Centrestage.
The lights were dimmed and the backcloth was lit by hundreds of tiny lights. Here you can see the planners we were given too.
After the training we had dinner.
A little close up of the pretty flowers.
And on each chair was the cutest little backpack! I couldn't believe it as I'd been searching for one only 2 weeks prior to the event!
Honestly, I was just soooooo excited to receive it! It's also in my favourite colour which, if you didn't know, is blue. Remember the colours on that tote? A super shade of denim, you could say it's quite dapper!

    Happy National Tea Day!

    Retiring Product List

The retiring Product List went live last night at 8pm.
I think every one of the 48000 demonstrators and their customers must have been trying to access it as we sent the system crazy - it went into meltdown.
Things are now quieter and the issues have been resolved so here is the link to access it via my shop:

    Grungy Swap

A rather grungy looking swap using the resist technique and Timeless Textures stamp set.
Sorry to see Blackberry Bliss retiring but I definitely won't miss the stained hands!

    Saturday, 16 April 2016

Two little swaps for today. Telford is busy, busy, busy. So I'll share more with you on my return!

A CASE of a card I made last year which I still like.
Originally in melon mambo and basic grey, this time hello honey. Love this colour combination.

    CAS Happy Mail

Swinging by today to share a little happy mail that I received recently from our UK Artisan Design Team Member, Val Moody.
Love that it has such clean and simple lines - why,oh why, can't I manage to do that!!!

    2 Sleeps and Counting!

Demonstrators around the world are getting a tad excited this week as this coming weekend is our Onstage event.
Onstage replaces our old form of convention. I was lucky enough to go to the live event in Brussels in November. It will be the first event for our new demos and is a lot of fun.
So, whilst I'm a night bird, I almost want to go to bed to get to tomorrow sooner - a kid at heart!!!

    A Little Excited!

This weekend my invitation to Centrestage at our Onstage Local event, arrived.

Yep! I'm a little excited, although I can't read the letter as I've received the German version!  It also means that I'll spend most of this week frantically making swaps too.
    Best crack on then.....

    Little Thanks!

Cute little notecards I gave to my customers last month. Shades of Blushing Bride, Pool Party and, of course, that super Pool Party Glitter Ribbon teamed up with Birthday Bouquet DSP.
I've only just got this Hostess set - A Whole Lot of Lovely - and wish I'd gone for it sooner!

    Happy Birthday Lelly!

Today I'm sharing a card I made recently for a friend's birthday. I'd been focussing on the Woodgrain stamp in classes that particular week and thought it would be nice to use it for a feminine card - hence the colour way!
I love how soft the overall appearance is, achieved just by the colours and adding some flowers with the Botanicals dies.
I hope you like it too!

    Blushing Flowering Fields

Some of you will have seen the recent cards I made in shades of crumb cake , soft suede and early espresso, using the free Saleabraton set - Flowering Fields. Saleabration may have just finished for another year  but I'd still like to share another set of cards using the same stamps but using Blushing Bride. I posted one a week or two ago, here are the rest.

The base cards are white, mounted with Blushing Bride. The ink is also Blushing Bride with white highlights in both chalk and gel pens.
I really like how these came out.
