Sad Times

Sympathy cards are not easy to make but we all need them from time to time.
Having had two family bereavements early this year, this was one of those times.
I didn't want anything heavy looking, too sombre, so opted to use a stamp from the Avant Garden saleabration stamp set.
I stamped and heat embossed the flower in silver on to vellum, colouring with pear pizzazz Stampin' Write marker and white gel pen. This was die cut into an oval then layered onto a piece of pear pizzazz card which had been die cut using the Stitched Shapes framelits.
The sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Sentiments stamp set, I pulled out some retired punches to to mount the sentiment on.
This topper was then layered onto a piece of retired white, self embossed DSP and adhered to a pear pizzazz card base. Two tiny pearl embellishments finished the card.
This clean looking card conveys, I trust, not just my sadness but also my hope for the future.

Quick Tags

Returning from a few days away, I remembered that I was meeting with some school friends the following day. I'd got celebratory gifts but nothing was wrapped.
I stamped up some tissue paper with melon mambo ink and the star stamp from the Perpetual Calendar set. A couple of tags, quickly made with the Stitched Shapes, Large Number and Large Alphabet thinlets. Finish with a piece of ribbon from my stash. Voila!
The wrapping is almost nicer than the gift!

A Varied Easter

I celebrate Easter but never seem to send Easter cards. This year, having bought the stamp set 'Easter Message', I thought that the Just for Fun classes in March might be a good opportunity to break the set open.

The first card we made was this Stampin' Up! design
Another card using the same stamp set
Back to ' Hey Chick' SAB stamp set for something a little more quirky. Snuck in a little of the SAB glimmer card here too.

Finally, an egg box. You will, no doubt, find lots of die and punch art animals all over the internet.
Allison Davini recently made a card using the Stitched Shape dies which I've turned into a box topper and belly band here. Some more SAB glimmer crept in here!

We filled the filled the boxes with cream eggs, ready to give.

Hey Chick - You're 5!

Fellow demo and friend Lesley Gillett celebrated 5 years of being a demonstrator...and I missed the occasion. I needed to make her a card, pronto!
Out came the Saleabration set Hey Chick.
I stacked the hens on top of each other until, with the egg/chick I had 5. This was the messy, but fun, result!
She finally got the card, way too late but the sentiment remained the same - Congratulations Lelly G!

Revisiting Beautiful You

You may recall the card I made for our group swap in December (shown again below), using the Beautiful You stamp set. It was a simple card, I find this type of card difficult, but I loved the end result.

Last month it was a friend's birthday. Although she's very into altered art, I remembered this little card and so made a fresh version in rose red, a colour I rarely used in the past but am now quite drawn to, along with copper foil.

I hope you like it as much as I do!

New Baby

What do you do when you don't have the right stamps? Improvise!
My neighbours have a new little baby girl but I don't have any baby stamps in my stash. I had a little rummage and pulled out the SAB set 'Hey Chick'. This is what I came up with -
In shades of Very Vanilla and Blushing Bride, the paper is from the dreamy Falling In Love DSP. The only non Stampin' Up! part is the greeting 'Welcome to your newest chick', but even then I managed to match up the colour perfectly to the Blushing Bride cardstock! I finished the card with Very Vanilla satin ribbon and a Falling In Love embellishment.
I was really rather pleased with the result!

Shine -

Like The Star That You Are!

Love this card that I made late last year who is taking time away from being a demonstrator. The sentiment is from a stamp set that was only available in the US which was gifted to me. The set is called Banner Blessings and is one that I don't think I'll part with.
I used the resist technique with stamps from Kinda Eclectic and Perpetual Birthday Calendar, various shades of blue ink, silver thread and sequins.
I still love the way this simple card looks.

Telford Make n' Takes

Way back in November I attended, along with a few hundred other demos, our Online Local event in Telford.
We got a sneak peek of the catalogue you now have, the Spring/Summer 2017 and the Saleabration (SAB) leaflet. We also had time to play with some of the new products and craft some Make and Take's. Chances are that you may have seen them on the internet somewhere, but for those of you who haven't I'll post the images below.
This first card shows a way to use some of the free SAB DSP 'Inside The Lines'. Cutting a sheet into pieces, colouring one with our new Watercolour Pencils and then attaching them to your base card in a patchwork effect creates a fun look to a card.
This dreamy Falling In Love DSP is just so pretty! An almost 'bokeh' effect. Used here with a stamp from  'So In Love' and the coordinating 'So Detailed' Thinlets. The stamps and dies are available as a bundle, saving 10%! Finished off with Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon and a 'Falling In Love' embellishment.
Three mini cards made using the Sealed With Love bundle
This bright and breezy card is fairly simple to look at on the outside - just a piece of Party Animal DSP, a stamped panel using the Balloon Adventures stamp set, finished off with Emerald Envy ribbon and a Party Animal embellishment.
But take a look at the inside...
This is created using the Balloon Pop Up Thinlets dies. So quick and easy! A few stamps on the balloons along with a little matching washi tape and you're done!
