WOW Group Swaps - December

Today I'm sharing a few swaps from the WOW! Swap group during December's training. We'd decided to go for fairly regular swaps on this occasion, as you can see, they're still fab! They're made using products from the Spring/Summer catalogue or Saleabration leaflet and so are still current.
Created by Bridget Metcalfe using Special Reason
Created by Kim Fee using Hey Chick from the SAB selection
Created by Fiona Whitten using Lift Me Up bundle
Created by Rebecca Willmore using Dragonfly dreams bundle
Created by Jan Twinks using Special Reason stamp and So Detailed die
Created by Pauline Barnfather using Sealed with Love bundle
Inside of Pauline's pop up panel mini card.
Finally, my own card created using Beautiful You.
Though I say it myself, I'm really pleased how this one came out as I find simple cards quite difficult.

Stamp Your Own 'OSW'

During the One Sheet Wonder Class, see previous post, I showed the ladies how I'd stamped my own sheet of white card using the Birthday Blooms stamp set and Night of Navy ink on white card. I used the same grid that they had but an alternative colourway. I wanted them to see just how different the cards would look with a few simple changes. Also, that they didn't need ready printed DSP when all they have to hand is plain card.
Below you can see the finished cards, which I may decide to 'step up' before sending.

When I showed a group of the ladies this week, they thought these looked totally different to the set of samples they'd had to work with. Hopefully it will encourage them to use the grid when they are stuck for time but need to make a batch of cards fairly quickly.
I do like this pretty colourway.

Those old project photos just keep turning up.

Here is a set of notecards made early last year using the Perpetual Birthday Calendar stamp set, proving it's not JUST for calendars!

One Sheet Wonder Class

This month we had a One Sheet Wonder (OSW) class. I'd seen a super, yet simple set of cards by 2 Big Girls Crafting which I had to have! Made using the Festive Birthday paper and colourway.
As you may have seen already, there are a vast number of OSW 'grids' online , this one made 11 cards.
The idea behind OSW is to use one sheet of Designer Series Paper, in this case a 12" x 12" sheet, to create toppers for a bundle of cards which you can keep simple or step up, just as you'd like. This idea is perfect when having to batch make cards such as Christmas time.
Now, I'm not going to show you the class cards - you can view them over at 2biggirls - but will share what the ladies made. They may decide to 'bling' them up before sending or may choose to use 'as is'. We kept to the same colour selection and used the Festive Birthday DSP.
BEWARE! Photo heavy post!
The following are by Sue Lee, Marian Roots and Sam Coates, shown here in the first photo - I couldn't resist using the blossom overlay on this photo as it was Chinese New Year..

Lovely Liz Walmsley decided to finish some of hers at home and instead opted to stamp some llama and cacti with which to embellish her cards.
The ladies also had a 12" x 12" white sheet of card and a water colour sheet to make their own cards from a grid at home. I stamped a 12" sheet to show them and will share that with you in another post.
OSW - a simple but effective idea when you need a batch of quick cards.

They keep turning up!

Yes, I do realise that Christmas was over 2 months ago but every time I scroll through my photos I find yet more that I haven't shared. So, at the risk of boring you to bits, here are (hopefully!!!) the last of them!
A lovely little batch in blue!
Here is a close up. I made a triangular template and stamped a large snowflake through the mask. Then I added the large flourish of stars stamp from Star of Light (from the Autumn/Winter catalogue) which I  embossed in silver. The same stamp is used around the edge of the card along with some blended ink. A quick greeting and shiny star which was left from a kit.
The same card in sweet sugarplum and copper, mounted on copper card.
This card base was calypso coral, which had faded a little (I'd left it in sunlight!). An aperture was cut using the star die. The card behind the star was a project life card. That same flourish stamp to finish and plenty of bling.
Finally a little frame to hang on the Christmas tree. The 2016 is a window sheet from Hello December project life. Behind that the whisper white card has been stamped and heat embossed with white stars with various blue inks blended on top.
Let's hope this really is the last batch!
