Painted With Love

A BIG birthday, I needed a different card a shutter card would fit the bill perfectly!
I pulled out the lush Painted With Love DSP from the new Spring/Summer catalogue. I really do think this is my favourite item in there and could easily become one of my all time favourites!
Here is what I came up with...
A shutter card and gift pouch/wallet.
The front of the card is a simple gate fold, like little wardrobe doors with a greeting panel attached.
The sentiment stamp is part of the Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set, seen below. Only partly shown on the front of my card because I masked some of it when I inked the stamp.
The gate fold card front hides the fact that inside is a clever shutter mechanism, just like a camera shutter.
As you can see, the words inside the shutter are the two words that I masked off when stamping the outside of the card.
Below you can see how the shutter opens as you open the card front.

My first shutter card and I'm really quite pleased with it.
The birthday gift has yet arrived but I wanted to let the recipient know that it's on its way. A little pouch/wallet was needed in which to enclose a note.
I used the new set of dies from the Painted With Love Suite - the Lots To Love Box Framelits Dies.
A box would have been too large for the note so I simply cut the DSP twice with the large die then folded the sides inwards and glued them like a seam. Finished off with 3/8" (1 cm) Metallic-Edge Ribbon in gold - the ribbon itself is very vanilla (if you order the silver edged the ribbon is whisper white).
Had I had some, I could have easily used Berry Burst 3/8" (1 cm) Metallic-Edge Ribbon. That would have looked pretty too.
The ribbon has got a little twisted in this photo.
This DSP is so stunning up close that I really think I'm going to have to put in another sneaky order!
I do hope you've enjoyed today's projects.
I look forward to sharing with you again soon.
Have a good week,
Lesley x
