A Very Merry Bokeh Unbirthday!

I make cards So, why do I miss birthdays and other occasions? A variety of reasons but, in this case, I dithered and didn't know what to make. I knew it needed to be something inky. But nothing seemed good enough. Then, in a flash, the date had passed.
No, matter, I'll send a belated card with an apology..... and so time crept on. I was devoid of inspiration.
Playing around with some ink I created a piece that I liked using the bokeh technique.
According to the internet bokeh is described as 'In photography, bokeh is the aesthetic quality of the blur produced in the out-of-focus parts of an image produced by a lens. Bokeh has been defined as "the way the lens renders out-of-focus points of light".' Apparently the word comes from Japanese language, which literally translates as “blur”.
This is the card I came up with -
The base card is calypso coral and the bokeh, which has been done on watercolour paper, is mounted on black. On top of this I added two die cuts from the Saleabration Celebrate You Thinlets set. The 'amazing' is cut from glimmer card, 'YOU' is cut from black card with a layer of fine tip glue on top over which I've sprinkled dazzling diamonds glitter.
As it's now 6 months since Nikki's birthday, I decided to call this her unbirthday or half birthday card. I'm pleased that she liked it and look forward to sharing the idea with her and some other friends soon.
I also made a bokeh style card a couple of years back, you can see it by clicking on the link below -

I hope you have a rewarding crafty time this week, out of the cold snow.
