Botanical Tags Mini Card

Excitedly ploughing my way through the new catalogue, I spotted the odd looking picture shown below. Botanical Tags Thinlits.
It really didn't seem to look much. Not for me, I thought. Dismissing them out of hand. How wrong could I be!

They were perfect for the mini 'Thank You' card I had in mind.

You see, they don't actually pre cut the bottom part of the tag, just the shaped area at the top. This means that you can make the tag as long as you like!
The base of my mini card was a 2" wide strip of the new softly coloured Sea Foam card. At one end I die cut the rose (top left in the picture), scored the card and folded it in half.
Next I die cut a piece of scrap with the same rose die. I intended to use this as a stencil on a strip of Whisper White card cut just slightly narrower than 2".
I mixed a little Powder Pink ink refill with a small amount to shimmer white embossing paste, placed the die cut scrap at one end of the white card and spread the paste over the flower petal area of the stencil. Then I mixed a tiny bit more paste with old olive ink refill and spread that over the leaf area of the stencil.
This was left to dry.
I trimmed the white strip to size and glued it inside my mini cards so the the stencilled rose lined up perfectly under the die cut rose on the Sea Foam card.

Onto the white card I stamped 'Thank You' and added a little silver washi tape (now retired).

A tiny pink card belly band and some ribbon, the card was finished. Just a short note inside and ready to mail!

Sometimes I just need to 'think outside the box'!
Stay out of the sun - enjoy some crafting in the cool,
Lesley
